Sr. BIW Engineer
Location: Southfield, MI
Seeking a BIW Engineer to design and develop automotive body sealing systems ensuring optimal NVH, air, and water sealing performance from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop BIW static sealing strategies and components for durability and efficiency.
- Optimize designs for performance, weight, cost, and manufacturability.
- Ensure BIW sealing meets manufacturing and performance requirements.
- Conduct virtual engineering and physical validation testing.
- Utilize GD&T for tolerance analysis and resolve sealing issues efficiently.
Qualifications:
- 5 years in BIW sealing systems (OEM or supplier).
- Strong knowledge of sealers, adhesives, baffles, foams, and sealing tapes.
- Experience with CATIA V5/V6 and 3D CAD design.
- Hands-on experience in prototype and production assembly.
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (ABET preferred).
