Role: Sr. Plastics Engineer – Tooling & Process
Location: Newark, California | Experience: 5 years
Lead plastics tooling and process engineering, ensuring manufacturability from design to production. Advise design teams and suppliers on tooling feasibility, cost, and efficiency. Evaluate flow studies, mold designs, and ensure compliance with tooling standards. Support internal teams and coordinate with suppliers, including on-site visits.
Qualifications:
- 5 years in plastic injection molding, DFM, and tool design evaluation
- Strong knowledge of injection tooling (in-mold decoration, overmolding, foaming, etc.)
- Experience with Autodesk MoldFlow and process optimization
- Excellent communication skills; ability to travel (up to 25%)
Preferred:
- Automotive development experience
- Hands-on experience with MoldFlow studies, tool trials, and approvals
- Familiarity with cost analysis and additional plastic manufacturing processes (blow molding, vacuum forming, etc.)
