Technica LLC seeks to recruit for the position of Heavy Equipment Operator on a Government contract with a place of performance at Fort Bliss, TX
Position Responsibilities :
- Operating heavy equipment : Skillfully maneuvers and controls various heavy machinery depending on the project needs, including Fork-lift 4k or higher, RTCH (Kalmar) 50k, and various types of military and civilian equipment.
- Material handling : Loads, unloads and transport materials like containers and various military equipment. Conducts airfield operations, rail support movements and tasks within company requirements. Closely interact with the customer for movement of materials and equipment.
- Safety compliance : Follows all safety protocols and company policies, including wearing appropriate protective gear and ensuring proper machine operation to prevent accidents, and proper ground guiding procedures. Ensure equipment is properly utilized, maintained, and stored.
- Equipment maintenance : Performs routine inspections, daily Preventive Maintenance Checks (PMCS) on equipment prior to operation and at completion of mission task assignment and / or at end of work shift and reports any malfunctions to leads and supervisors.
- Site awareness : Maintains awareness of surroundings, including other workers, pedestrians, and obstacles on the job site.
- Communication : Coordinates with other crew members, leads and supervisors to ensure efficient project execution.
- Be able to support additional Unit Movement Branch tasks as directed.
- High school graduate or equivalent is desirable.
- Minimum of 1 year work experience operating heavy equipment required.
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds (2 Person Lift).
- Available to work different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Complete necessary documentation, reporting, and limited office duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
