Technica LLC seeks to recruit for the position of Maintenance Trades Helper on a Government contract with a place of performance at Fort Bliss, TX. This position is full-time but temporary. Anticipated period of performance ending 31 January 2025, contingent on contract award. Signing bonus may be offered to eligible candidates.
Position Responsibilities:
Assists workers in the skilled maintenance trades by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill such as: keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools, cleaning working area, machine, and equipment; assisting journeyman by holding materials or tools; and performing other unskilled tasks as directed by mechanic, supervisor or shop lead. The kind of work the helper is permitted to perform varies from trade to trade. In some trades the helper is confined to supplying, lifting, and holding materials and tools, and cleaning working areas and in others, the worker is permitted to perform specialized machine operations, or parts of a trade that are also performed by workers on a full-time basis. Operates materiel handling equipment (MHE) as required. Performs other duties assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid state issued driver license.
- 18 years of age with High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident for more than 3 years.
- Able to function with a basic level of English oral and written language skills.
- Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, blowing sand, heavy rain, sleet and snow.
- Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Able to pick up and move items within a 49 lbs. restriction with a frequent or constant lifting of 40 lbs.
- Capable of climbing and working on equipment at 10 feet above ground limit, to include ability to bend, stoop, kneel.
- Capable of using and understanding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Able to operate a forklift.
- Able to work past normal hours as mission dictates.
