The Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) is seeking highly qualified applicants for their fulltime Curriculum Director for Advanced and Emerging Technology Programs position in the Office of Technical Education. With a focus on emerging industries, the Curriculum Director will oversee and enhance TCSG’s programming in Automated Manufacturing, Chemical Operations Technology, Engineering Technology (Civil, Electronics-Computer, Environmental, Mechanical, Industrial Systems, Instrumentation Technology, Machine Tool Technology/Precision Manufacturing, and Nuclear Science Technology Programs, ensuring that our curriculum meets academic standards and workforce needs within the 22 technical colleges. This alignment with industry needs will ensure Georgia remains the #1 place to do business.
This position will also work closely with the TCSG Department of Research and Business Intelligence to support the implementation of TCSG’s role within the SMART Packaging Consortium in partnership with the Georgia Institute of Technology. This position will work closely with industry partners to develop and implement curricula and programs in advanced packaging and clean room procedures, with a focus on instruction in Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality instruction.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and continuously improve curricula for advanced and emerging technology program alignment with academic standards, industry requirements, and emerging trends.
- Manage the implementation and evaluation of academic programs, ensuring that they meet educational objectives and accreditation standards.
- Coordinate with college faculty, program directors, and academic deans to build enrollment and increase graduation and job placement rates.
- Coordinate with the Executive Director of Research & Business Intelligence to ensure ongoing and appropriate leadership, support and alignment with the goals of the SMART Packaging Consortium.
- Provide leadership in the development, implementation and maintenance of the new programs to support advanced and emerging technologies.
- Provide leadership in gaining and maintaining appropriate program accreditations with relevant state and national accrediting bodies (i.e. ABET).
- Ensure that all training programs and operations comply with State and Federal laws, as well as TCSG Board Policies.
- Provide leadership in identifying developing lab and facilities spaces to support hands-on instruction in Advanced and Emerging Technologies; especially technologies related to Artificial Intelligence and Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality.
- Coordinate the curriculum program approval/revision process
- Assist with the continuous review of academic programs under the Curriculum Director’s purview.
- Facilitate approval process for articulation agreements
- Participate in meetings to define and set goals based on strategic direction of the agency or technical college and customer needs
- Conduct regular evaluation of services provided and make adjustments as needed
- Stay informed about advancements in advanced and emerging technologies, grant opportunities in these areas, as well as up to date with policies, procedures, and state or federal laws that may impact department initiatives.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with and serve as a liaison to internal and external customers, including manufacturers and other employers; and
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field *and* Five (5) years of work-related experience in management of the defined departmental area
- Master’s degree in Engineering or a related field *and* a minimum of Two (2) years of experience in curriculum development or related roles within post-secondary education
- Strong knowledge of curriculum design, instructional practices, and assessment strategies
- Deep understanding of advanced and emerging technologies, and educational methodologies, most especially technologies related to augmented reality, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence.
- Proficient in the use of educational technology and learning management systems
- Oral and written communication skills
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Critical thinking and analysis
- Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public; and
