The ideal candidate will have a strong background in PLC programming, a deep understanding of automation processes, and hands-on experience in the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement PLC programs for automated systems, with a focus on Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimise PLC-controlled systems in an industrial or automotive environment.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to ensure seamless integration of automation systems into production lines.
- Provide technical support and training to plant operators and maintenance teams.
- Conduct system testing, diagnostics, and modifications to improve process efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
- Assist in the development of control systems for robotics, conveyors, and other automation equipment.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven expertise in programming Allen Bradley (Logix 5000, Studio 5000) and Siemens PLCs (S7-1200, S7-1500, TIA Portal).
- Strong background in industrial automation, particularly within the automotive sector.
- Experience with SCADA systems, HMI development, and network configurations.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with industrial protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Profinet).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- A degree or relevant certification in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field is desirable.
