What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at Technical Hardfacing and Machining, Inc.?
The Lead Quality Technician is responsible for maintaining compliance regarding quality documentation, procedures and reports as described per the THM Quality Manual and ISO standard. The Lead Quality Technician will directly perform and oversee inspections of products. The Lead Quality Technician will review all documentation and authorize acceptance of the final output. This position is in Attleboro, Massachusetts.
Essential Functions:
- Understand customer expectations and needs of a product
- Audit and approve raw materials that are used in production
- Develop and maintain component inspection reports and balloon drawings
- Inspect products according to quality standards.
- Ensure products comply with customer & company standards.
- Approve/reject the final output of the product (component & documentation)
- Maintain calibration schedule
- Ensure test equipment being used is calibrated and working correctly
- Monitor and evaluate internal production inspection procedures
- Ensure production is not hindered by quality testing procedures
- Report quality anomalies to the production supervisor.
- Identify areas of improvement regarding the quality control processes.
- Develop improvements to the quality process.
- Develop, process, & document internal and external NCR’s, CAR’s, RMA’s, CDR’s (when applicable)
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree or Technical school is highly preferred.
- Prior related experience in a machine/job shop or a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, ERP Systems, Document Control and other databases. Able to learn additional programs as needed.
- Data analysis and statistical aptitude
- Perform work accurately and thoroughly.
- Work independently, exercising judgement and initiative
- Communicate effectively with others both verbally and in written form.
- Act in a self-confident manner to facilitate completion of a work assignment and accepts responsibility his/her actions.
- Make decisions while following company procedures.
- Demonstrate honesty, integrity and conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings (blue prints), use metrology equipment and the CMM.
- Quality Control Certification is a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Able to sit or stand frequently.
- Able to walk occasionally.
- Able to handle and grasp tools repetitively.
- Must be able to push/pull up to 10 lbs. constantly.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Must be able to bend at waist, squat and kneel/crouch occasionally.
- Visual Acuity - Able to see close detail, distance and colors constantly.
- Able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment as required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
