Key Responsibilities : Machine Learning & AI ResearchResearch how LLMs and ML techniques are solving real-world problems and apply them to high-security environments.Explore graph extraction models for knowledge graph generation from unstructured text.Investigate the latest LLMs, such as Llama 3, Google, Mistral, and evaluate their applicability.Evaluate machine learning models for security risks, such as Pickle / GGUF deserialization vulnerabilities and supply chain threats.Software Development & EngineeringDevelop scalable, reusable code that enables less-experienced team members to implement ML workflows efficiently.Maintain and contribute to streaming processing pipelines and generalized web endpoints serving ML model inference requests.Directly contribute to various projects using Java, Python, Pandas, NLP, scikit-learn, and Hugging Face Transformers.System Administration & InfrastructureResearch and implement ML frameworks and libraries suitable for air-gapped environments (e.g., Ollama, Langchain, Hugging Face Transformers, VLLM, NVIDIA NIMs).Install and maintain data science-specific hardware and tools, including NVIDIA drivers, Docker CE, Kubernetes, Helm, Firewalld, IPTables.Troubleshoot network and system issues, such as machines dropping off networks when DHCP servers fail.Team Leadership & MentorshipProvide technical guidance to team members, including architecture discussions, debugging, and code reviews.Review and improve SOPs for securely moving ML models and datasets across development and production networks.Teach and support team members on tools and platforms, including Accumulo, Solr, Kafka, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Elasticsearch, Spark, and Bash.Required Qualifications : Active TS / SCI clearance (mandatory).Extensive experience (8 years) in software development and data science.Proficiency in LLMs, machine learning, and AI frameworks (Hugging Face, Langchain, Transformers, etc.).Strong programming skills in Java, Python, and ML libraries (Pandas, NLTK, scikit-learn).Experience with ML infrastructure in air-gapped, high-security environments.Deep understanding of system administration, SRE, and networking (Docker, Kubernetes, NVIDIA GPU management, Linux security).Experience with high-scale data processing and unusual databases (e.g., LanceDB, Neo4j).Ability to mentor junior team members and collaborate in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.Preferred Qualifications : Experience working in government or defense-related AI / ML projects.Familiarity with security-focused AI risk assessments and supply chain threats.Contributions to open-source machine learning projects or frameworks.
