Job Location: Remote, with territory covering Southwest Ohio. Additional consideration for coverage in Michigan, Indiana, West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
Job Summary:
The Sales Representative will be responsible for sales and distribution of Technical Products Inc.'s portfolio of chemical products within their designated territory. The Company’s core distribution area is within a 175-mile radius around its facility in Cleveland, OH. Reporting to the President, this individual will be responsible for driving sales growth through new business development, maintaining relationships with assigned accounts, executing sales strategies, and maintaining strong sales profitability. The Sales Representative will work closely with internal teams, including supply chain, accounting, and technical support, to facilitate seamless customer service and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop in-depth knowledge of Technical Products Inc.'s chemical product lines and leverage this expertise to generate sales.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within target industries including adhesives, sealants, paints and coatings, elastomers, automotive, and cleaning products.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, distributors, and suppliers.
• Develop and execute a territory sales plan to meet or exceed revenue and profit targets.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to provide technical support and customized solutions to clients.
• Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform sales strategy.
• Negotiate agreements, pricing, and terms with customers and suppliers.
• Participate in trade shows and networking events to expand market presence.
• Provide regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and updates to company leadership.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of sales experience in chemical distribution, chemical manufacturing, or a related industry.
• Strong understanding of chemical products and their industrial applications.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to visit customers within assigned region.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with custom chemical blending and working with formulators.
• Prior experience in industrial coatings, lubricants, adhesives, or specialty chemicals.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety standards in chemical distribution.
