Grounds Maintenance Technician
Technical Professionals Group (TPG) is seeking a motivated, dependable, and safe Grounds Maintenance Technician to support an automotive testing facility in Wittmann, AZ. This position will assist in the maintenance of 12,000 acres of the beautiful Sonoran Desert.
The Grounds Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance of the facility and grounds. The Grounds Maintenance Technician is also responsible for the repair and programming of sprinkler systems and minor repairs of equipment.
Job Responsibilities/Requirements:
- Must be extremely organized, possess strong attention to detail and have a keen ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines
- Comfortable communicating with multiple people and coordinating multiple projects, simultaneously
- Conduct weekly inspections such as grounds, building, equipment and safety inspections and complete reports
- Follow all aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety procedures
- Perform groundskeeping and light building maintenance duties
- Perform maintenance duties such as fixing fountains
- Repair and program sprinkler systems
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping
- Cut lawn using hand, power, or riding mover and trim and edge around walks, flower beds and walls
- Apply pesticide to rid the grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks and others
- Sweep and clear walkways of debris
- Cut down tree limbs that are posing a danger. Trim shrubs and pull weeds.
- Clean and maintain lawn furniture
- Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed
- Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer
- Install rock, cement, lighting, water and furniture
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must have the ability and knowledge to repair and program sprinkler systems
- Needs to be a strong communicator, and able to convey important information to co-workers, superiors, and contractors.
- Requires excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma
- Able to work cooperatively in a diverse and challenging environment
- Previous facilities or grounds maintenance experience
Physical and Environmental Job Requirements
- Sitting, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, carrying, and lifting items of 25 lbs. or more
- Prolonged routine sitting for 2 or more hours, and evening driving may be necessary
- Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions; dusty, hot weather
- Ability to perform essential job functions in an environment with varied noise levels
