What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Guard (3rd shift) position at Technical Professionals Group?
TPG is looking for a Security Guard for a worldwide tire manufacturer located in San Angelo TX. This Security Guard has the responsibility to maintain the security and safety of people and property in all assigned areas within the property boundaries of this test facility by manning main entrance areas, patrolling building areas using assigned vehicles or on foot and enforcing Proving Grounds security rules and regulations.
Job specific duties
- Patrols assigned areas checking for fires, vandalism, suspicious activity or persons or safety/fire hazards.
- Investigates and/or reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances to management for correction or follow- up actions.
- Checks doors and windows of buildings to ensure they are tightly closed and locked; and notes in written log any unlocked doors/windows. Discrepancies to normal operating practices must be submitted in writing to the appropriate supervisor.
- Observes activity and traffic in assigned area to enforce rules/regulations are being followed.
- Ensure that all visitors are provided the basic introduction processes before entering the grounds of the Proving Grounds.
- Secure appropriate escorts for vendors and guests to desired destination when
- Responds to alarms and dispatched calls and make decisions on what actions to take based on situation, facts known and position limitations.
- Decides when incident requires a written report and which report form to use and submits them regularly to the respective supervisor.
- Unlocks buildings/doors after checking identification and compliance with Proving Ground Management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of basic security and fire inspection procedures.
- Skill in both verbal and written communication.
- Skill in observing situations and decision making.
- Skill in dealing courteously with internal and external customers.
Job Specifications Required:
- A high school diploma or GED certificate.
- A valid State of Texas issued driver's license.
- A valid Security Guard license issued by the State of Texas.
- Must be able to safely operate a variety of motor vehicles assigned to this department furnished by the Client.
- Must have the physical and mental dexterity to handle all assigned shifts.
- Must have good vision, hearing and motor skills.
- Requires mental and visual attention for sustained periods of time in conditions that could include temperature extremes and wet conditions.
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
- Must demonstrate good team skills, and the ability to work with and learn from others.
- Must have basic office computer operating skills that include Microsoft Office software.
- Must be available for weekends
- This is a 3rd shift position (11pm - 7:00)
Schedule:
- 3rd shift (11:00pm - 7:00am)
- Saturday and Sunday (7:00am - 7:00pm)
