SanAir Technologies Laboratory, Inc. is an accredited, diversified environmental testing lab with more than 20 years’ experience providing analytical and consulting services to detect and identify asbestos, lead and metals, environmental microbiology, bacteria, Legionella and other environmental hazards.
SanAir is currently hiring an Office Assistant for our Syracuse, New York location. The Office Assistant acts as liaison between our customers and our laboratory personnel while maintaining other daily tasks and duties. Our ideal candidate is a positive, team-oriented "doer” with excellent organizational and communications skills. The ability to manage processes, work independently to meet time-bound goals, and be self-directed are key attributes. Knowing how to under promise and over-deliver, and ask for help when needed, would be welcomed approaches to the task at hand.
Responsibilities:
- Welcoming clients / guests into the office professionally.
- Answering phone calls and directing calls or taking messages.
- Filing, mail preparation, data entry, & proofreading.
- Managing the daily Admin-related tasks.
- Manage incoming customer emails, Chain of Custody / sample issues, and customer supply orders.
- Establishes and maintains long-term relationships with customers by functioning as the primary point of contact between client and lab personnel.
- Fields inquiries regarding new sample submissions and current sample status, performs outreach to clients to capture missing information or communicate challenges/manage expectations regarding timing.
- Handles client concerns regarding work and circumstances within and outside the lab’s control.
- Communicates pricing, including helping clients understand pricing rationale.
- Maintaining the data integrity of our LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
- Working with customers to ensure invoices are paid on time.
- Will complete other tasks and duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to type 40 - 60 words per minute
- Good communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory.
- Ability to work effectively alone or with co-workers to accomplish goals.
- Willing to work extended hours when necessary.
