Smart® Materials (SMat) Support Specialist
Location: Houston

Responsible for developing and executing Intergraph Smart® Materials User Administrator activities for North America. The role will work closely with Global Support, Project(s), and Construction personnel.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the administration, management, coordination, training, implementation, and leading activities relating to the management of our material systems and tools and associated documentation for the Materials Management Department in Home Office and Construction Site environments. Position will have a broad range of responsibilities within the department to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and TechnipEnergies policy, procedure, and guidelines. The SMat Support Specialist role provides technical support to users in maintaining, advancing, and utilizing manual and digital technology. Works with and troubleshoots a variety of material systems and networked devices to provide technical support.

- Provides general and direct support to departmental and project personnel.
- Driving process improvement and enabling cross-functional teams with project execution.
- Applies knowledge and trouble shooting skills for all types of SMat data management.
- Remains knowledgeable of business unit activity and keeps management’s direct reports informed concerning material management information technology matters.
- Represents material management in conferences to resolve issues and advance TechnipEnergies plans and procedures.
- Applies extensive and diversified knowledge of material management practices and principles in work assignments.
- Plans and executes in support of project operations within plans, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Practices good leadership and decision-making skills.
- Applies knowledge of SMat and material-handling procedures.
- Studies receiving or shipping notices and reports schedule for incorporation into material tools.
- May confer with other departments to coordinate flow of materials.
- Advises management of developments that may substantially affect project profit, costs, schedules, technical content, client relations, interdepartmental, and interdivisional relations.
- When necessary, support and advise other TechnipEnergies departments on materials management matters.
- Attend internal and external customer meetings via telephone, videoconference, or in person.
- Support TechnipEnergies Management in the identification and assessment of all identified risks.
- Provide training and workshops on Materials Management tools, policies, standards, and methodologies.
- Provide perpetual communication, support, and collaboration with management and other team members.
- Develop reports and templates for data conversion, interfaces, analysis and troubleshooting skills to support projects and the department.
- Support new tool implementations and ensure new or modified processes are documented with change management defined for full implementation.
- Working with a Global Support group and end users to analyze and advance project execution.
- Develop and deliver end-user training and deliver end-user operational support.
- Uploading data into SMat via Bill of Material BOM import, ensuring data is formatted properly before uploading Requisitions into SMat module, from BOM to Material Take-Off MTO to Purchase Requisition PR to Purchase Order PO .
- Ensure data is formatted properly and of digital quality prior to uploading.
- Ensure data received from other tools for upload into SMat is formatted properly.
- Troubleshoot data inconsistencies across entire workflow.
- Generate SMat reporting for upload into other tools used throughout the EPC process and project(s) reporting.
- Support users working in the Site Module performing material management tasks including material receipts, transfers, and issuing.
- Generate Material Forecasts to assist with AWP activities and Material Feasibility.
- Support users in the Smart® Reference Data module performing Item builder tasks such as Commodity Codes, Ident Codes, and Specification Management
Essential:
- Has in-depth knowledge and experience in use of Hexagon’s Intergraph Smart® Materials (SMAT) modules.
- Possesses the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to be able to perform the roles and responsibilities proficiently.
- Ability to process and analyze Home Office and Site Digital Data.
- Uses operational and supervisory expertise to solve problems within own area.
- Interprets customer needs and assesses requirements.
- Sets day-to-day direction to support business objectives.
- Works within budget to meet operational objectives set by manager.
- Resolves routine problems using defined processes and own experience.
- Attain good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent computer literacy and skills.
- High proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- SMat expert level skills in multiple modules
- Experience in work process and user technical training.
- Requires 5 years of Materials Management Experience in Home Office and/or Construction locations (site).
- Site experience with large oil & gas and petrochemicals industries projects.
- Computer literate in materials control tools and relevant materials certification where applicable.
- Completion of an undergraduate degree.
