Job Purpose

This position will be responsible for effectively and proactively performing Project Control functions related to financial and cost forecasting analysis, risk and/or schedule and assists in the preparation of Project Controls activities to support the project or assignment. This position reports operationally to Project Controls Department Manager and indirectly to the Project Controls Manager. Overall responsibility for compliance of assigned projects with project controls and services standards - both from applicable contract documents and from project controls policies/guidelines.

Job Description

  • Perform effective and proactive Project Control functions related to financial and cost forecasting analysis, risk, and schedule.
  • Review the project contract and ensure that all the contract conditions (invoicing, reporting, change management, etc.) are applied throughout the life cycle of the project
  • Collaborate with other functions (Finance, Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, REMS) to ensure informed decision-making.
  • Implement Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures, collect performance data, analyze earned value, and track project progress.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules compliant with execution strategies.
  • Prepare and distribute project control reports, including budget tracking, cost forecasts, and risk assessments.
  • Support internal and external meetings by providing analysis and documentation.
  • Assist in project baseline setup and contract compliance.
  • Monitor project performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain project risk register

You Are Meant For This Job If

  • Possess practical experience in the use of the automated cost or schedule management systems
  • Having project control roles on various projects
  • May need to travel for project assignments and in support of business related matters.
  • College and/or University degree in related field, OR applicable work experience
  • Candidate should have a minimum of three years of experience in project controls or project management, preferably in EPC 3-5 years of Project Controls experience, cost, schedule, and/or risk.
  • Applied knowledge of the “Earned Value” principles.
  • Applied knowledge of Project Management and Project Controls principles, including experience with concepts of PMBOK
  • Entry to Intermediate proficiency in Primavera P6 and SAP.
  • Ability to produce read and manipulate schedules and scheduling curves/reports.
  • Applied knowledge of cost engineering/cost control
  • Advanced proficiency on MS Office tools, with emphasis on the advanced use of MS Excel in creating and maintaining detailed, interactive spreadsheets, workbooks, and databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to interact and multitask with project team members, clients, and vendors of varying position levels.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and employees
  • Willingness for continuous learning and advancement of technical knowledge
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a Project Controls team.
