Assembly Technician 2nd Shift

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Prepares, sets up, and troubleshoots machines as assigned by Shift Lead.
JOB DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Pre stages tooling, material, manufacturing orders and support equipment for future work.
- Reports defective machinery/equipment to Shift Lead, Department Manager or maintenance department.
- Sets up line/work area.
- Inspects work in progress and finished products, completing required documentation.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, ergonomics, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Serve as a member of a special project team as required.
- Ensure that all customer orders are built to the required quality standards as set forth by Techniplas.
- Interprets specifications, blueprints and job orders.
- Monitors press cycle to ensure that presses are running to routing standards. Initiates corrective action for jobs running out of standard cycle.
- Returns shop packet and other related materials to the production office when jobs are completed.
- Responsible for completing cleanup duties and returning supplies to the proper location.
- Complete material handling duties as necessary.
- Run presses as needed.
- Ability to work overtime when required and having flexibility to work on other shifts for short time periods if necessary.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES):

- One to three years related experience and/or training.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Certified forklift training.
