POSITION DESCRIPTION
DEPARTMENT : Engineering
SUPERVISED BY : Engineering manager
STATUS : Full time non-exempt

Position Summary :
This position will use CAD equipment and FEA software to design tooling and equipment necessary in order to manufacture components. This position will create and maintain top down assemblies and complex surface models. The employee makes simple decisions, but refers most questions / problems to tooling engineer.
Essential Job Functions :
- Design tooling based on customer CAD
- Repair / manipulate customer CAD
- Create 3D Trim models
- Design tooling based on manufacturing method / part geometry
- Modify tooling based on technician feedback
- Determine best materials for process and cost limits
- Communicate with technicians to solve problems
- Maintain various project timelines and resources through project completion.
Qualifications :
EDUCATION : Associate's degree or equivalent in design engineering
CREDENTIALS / LICENSURE : Clean driving record required. Forklift operator's license preferred, chauffer's license or CDL preferred
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : 1-2 years CAD experience - solid modeling in SolidWorks, preferred 2 years designing weld fixtures. 1 year machine operating experience preferred.

Position Type and Expected Hours :
This is a full-time non-exempt position with a minimum of 40hrs / week with overtime as needed. Note : days and hours required may vary.
Shifts include
1st - Monday-Friday - 7 : 00am-3 : 30pm
Environmental Expectations :
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to manufacturing processes that include and are not limited to; fumes or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
