Position: Public Procurement Consultant
Duration: 12 months
Location: Minnesota (Remote)
Descriptions of Specifications:
High school diploma or GED AND nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in contract administration to include overseeing the development and negotiation of contracts and bid specifications; managing bid openings; awarding and executing contracts.
Note: Highest completed degree in the following majors: Business, Finance, Public Administration, or a closely related field will count towards the minimum nine (9) years of required work experience.
Education:
- Associate's degree counts as two years of experience
- Bachelor's degree or higher counts as four years of experience
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Relevant government purchasing and contracting certifications such as
- an UPPCC Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO)
or
- Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB), or
- NIGP-CPP are a plus.
- Contract preparation and administration in IT
- Knowledge of principles, practices, processes and laws related to general liability in the State of MN;
- Federal, state and local laws and regulations pertaining competitive procurement practices.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Word and Excel, Electronic Calendar and Internet
- Requires skill and persuasion in dealing with others, both inside and outside of the department.
- Interactions with others generally require influencing, instructing and negotiating with individuals to gain their understanding, cooperation and action.
- Skilled in time management
- Skilled in verbal and written communication to diverse audiences
- Strong interpersonal skills
