Techno is seeking an experienced Piling Inspector to join our project team in Yonkers, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and ensuring the quality and compliance of all civil construction activities.
Job Description:
- Design and evaluate deep foundation systems with a focus on micropile applications.
- Analyze geotechnical reports, site investigations, and subsurface conditions to determine optimal foundation solutions.
- Lead and support load test programs, including static and dynamic load testing on micropiles.
- Prepare and review detailed engineering reports and technical papers related to micropiles.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural engineers, field inspectors, and contractors.
- Monitor the placement and finishing of reinforced concrete for structural integrity.
- Conduct field inspections, document findings, and report any issues or discrepancies to the project manager and construction team.
- Review blueprints, project plans, and construction materials to ensure compliance with engineering and construction standards.
- Verify contractor adherence to contract requirements, quality control standards, and safety protocols.
- Coordinate with construction managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure timely project progress and adherence to deadlines.
- Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Assist with the review and approval of concrete mix designs, rebar placement, and other civil work components.
- Witness and verify field testing of materials, such as concrete cylinder breaks, soil compaction, and welding inspections.
- Monitor site safety practices and ensure all project work complies with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy civil construction inspection, with a focus on reinforced concrete.
- Prior experience with underground storage containment tanks or similar infrastructure projects is a plus.
- ACI Certification (Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade I or higher) is preferred.
- Previous experience in pump stations and wastewater treatment plants.
- Given the multiple inspection sites involved in this assignment, candidates must be willing to travel as necessary.
- Experience with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction documents, and engineering plans.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with contractors, engineers, and project managers.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to maintain thorough documentation.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
