Principal ServiceNow Engineer
Location: Remote
Experience:
12 total years of relevant IT experience in a technical field of which a minimum of 6 years is experience providing administration services for a major Service Management System (preferably ServiceNow).
Bachelor’s degree in management information systems (MIS), Computer Science (CS), or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (6 years’ experience in lieu of degree).
Current ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) Certification applicable to the specialty (ies) for the position.
Current ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) Certification
Duties:
Perform SMS development activities and be proficient in applying the SDLC and DevOps principles. Perform implementation, administration, configuration, and/or development with ServiceNow ITSM application suite, and in identified specialty (ies). Perform response and resolution for SMS.

- 12 years of relevant IT experience, including at least 6 in administration services for a major Service Management System (SMS), preferably ServiceNow.
- Candidate must be proficient with Discovery and Integrations.
- Current ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Discovery (CIS-Disco) Certification is required
Job Role Specific Requirements:
- Perform implementation, administration, configuration, and/or development with ServiceNow ITSM application suite, and in identified specialty (ies).
- Responsible for the design of the Client’s Service Management System (SMS) and supporting the SMS operations, to include engineers and the SMS development life cycle.
- Determine which integration method(s) will be used, integration directionality, and attributes.
- Participate in any data normalization required prior to being imported / inserted into ServiceNow.
- Participate in platform, process, and integration testing.
- Develop and maintain Discovery schedules, pattern usage and the role of other integrations.
- Fulfil role of Enterprise Integration Manager.
- Design, develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications and services.
- Deliver new functionality across applications.
- Manage and perform SMS development activities, supporting the entire development lifecycle.
- Apply SDLC and DevOps principles.
- Perform response and resolution for escalated SMS service requests and incidents.
- Assist the platform administrator with incident resolution.
- Participate in on-call rotation providing support during non-business hours (nights, weekends, holidays).
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- 12 years of relevant IT experience, including at least 6 in administration services for a major Service Management System (SMS), preferably ServiceNow.
- Bachelor’s degree in management information systems (MIS), Computer Science (CS), or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience (6 years of experience in lieu of degree)
- Extensive knowledge of ServiceNow Discovery and Integrations.
- Experience with the SNMP technologies that support Discovery Patterns.
- Experience with SOAP/REST-based API integrations.
- Current ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) Certification is required.
