Position: Technical Writer
Location: Hybrid 3 days in Laurel, MD
Duration: 12 Months

Job Description:

• Client is seeking an experienced Technical Writer Consultants to join our clients team in Laurel, MD. The consultants will work closely with IT project managers, developers, subject matter experts (SMEs) and end-users to gather accurate information and ensure documentation reflects system functionality precisely. They will create comprehensive, user-friendly documentation and media, including:
• User manuals and operational guides (e.g., user guides, quick reference guides).
• Training materials (e.g., brochures, presentations).
• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Instructional videos
• Develop and maintain documentation, including SOPs, quick reference guides, user guides, training manuals, brochures, after-action reports, and instructional videos.
• Determine the most effective way to present information for maximum reader comprehension and ensure technical documentation is clear and logical.
• Proofread and edit documents to ensure adherence to grammatical and formatting standards.
• Collaborate with IT departments to gather documentation for the IT Technical Documentation Repository, ensuring proper formatting and uploading.
• Work with video requestors to gather media content and textual information, develop instructional videos aligned with requestor needs, and ensure compliance with accessibility and quality standards.
• Store instructional videos on Microsoft Stream.
