Software Engineer

The Opportunity: This hybrid role requires in-person availability in Phoenix from day one. The position is suitable for candidates with 6–9 years of software development experience who excel as strong individual contributors and can work with minimal guidance. Familiarity with Agile or other rapid application development methodologies is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and coding using Java, Vert.x, Kafka, and a range of databases, with knowledge of Big Data, cloud technologies, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities:

• Lead all technical aspects of software development for assigned applications.
• Design and develop systems and application programs.
• Identify and adopt innovative technologies to enhance development processes.
• Collaborate with product owners to prioritize features for ongoing sprints and manage technical requirements based on industry trends, new technologies, and known defects.
• Utilize hands-on expertise in application design, software development, and automated testing.
• Effectively interpret technical and business objectives, articulate solutions, and address ambiguous or under-defined problems.
• Proactively seek opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and technologies.
• Demonstrate a high level of energy, adaptability, and the ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies.

• Requirements:
• Proficiency in object-oriented design and coding with a variety of programming languages.
• Expertise in:
  • Programming & Frameworks: Java, Vert.x
  • Messaging & Event-Driven Architecture: Kafka, Event Engine
  • Databases: Postgres, PostgreSQL, Hive, relational and dimensional modeling
  • Big Data Tools & Cloud Technologies: ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Big Data platforms, and cloud ecosystems
  • APIs & Middleware: Postman, Apigee, ACE Studio, eCP
  • Monitoring & Analytics Tools: Splunk, Dynatrace
• Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies or other rapid application development approaches.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
