Reports to: Executive Director


 Job Expectation:


The Director will support the development, implementation and execution of short- and long-term strategic goals of DAOES to improve postsecondary outcomes for students. This includes overseeing curriculum alignment, promoting effective teaching practices, and ensuring programs and services are responsive to student needs.


 The Director will execute key responsibilities to support student achievement, celebrating staff and student success, supporting staff in the implementation of best practice, making data-driven decisions, fostering a positive school climate, analyzing data, and administering grants with a focus on optimizing student success and postsecondary opportunities. In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Director will also guide the Principal and Assistant Principal in leadership at the Technology Center of DuPage.


  ESSENTIALPERFORMANCERESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Executive Director in maximizing the opportunity of high school CTE programs in DAOES districts.
  • Coordinate professional development for school counselors and CTE teachers in DuPage area.
  • Collect and reports key data on occupational opportunity, program success, and student outcomes as directed by the Executive Director
  • Lead quarterly DAOES Pathway Administrator Committee meetings.
  • Organize regional advisory committees for Business, Family and Consumer Sciences and Technology Education (including Computer Science).
  • Represent DAOES as needed in settings that advance key work areas.
  • Promote collaboration among DAOES high schools to share CTE best practices.
  • Build partnerships with local civic, business, and industry organizations.
  • Assist with the completion and submission of Local and Comprehensive Needs Assessments (LNA/CLNA).
  • Collaborate with DuPage area district administrators to support the growth and development of Career Technical Education programming.
  • Provide technical assistance to DAOES partner districts to implement and expand college and career pathway endorsements.
  • Support the organization of program tours and promote CTE programs at Technology Center of DuPage.
  • Support districts in using student interest and skills data to inform career planning.
  • Improve career counseling systems and assist students in developing career plans.
  • Engage industry professionals in advisory committees, team-based challenges, and work-based learning.
  • Attend all DAOES Board meetings. Prepare any recommendations and/or reports for the Board at the Executive Director’s request.
  • Oversee the technical application, submission and approval of Career Technical Education Incentive Grant and Carl G. Perkins IV Grant.
  • Address equity gaps in access to pathway endorsement opportunities.
  • Increase ISBE-approved districts’ and student attainment of pathway endorsements.
  • Attend all required ISBE trainings related to pathway endorsements.
  • Stay up to date on state and national CTE trends and requirements.
  • Deliver professional development and support in key CTE areas, including:
  • High school/TCD pathway alignment
  • Career exploration and development
  • Team-based challenges and work-based learning
  • Industry certifications and dual credit opportunities
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

  Job Qualifications:

  • Administrative Licensure (Principal endorsement), Doctorate preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of instruction, assessment, and curricular alignment.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and relationship skills with a proven ability to establish, cultivate and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Sound professional judgment, discretion and discernment
  • Knowledge of the current literature, trends, and developments in career technical education (CTE) and legislation
  • Knowledge and ability to provide needs-based professional development
  • A minimum of five years of administrative experience that includes supervision and evaluation is required.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills.

  Salary and Benefits:

  • $155,000 - $165,000 base salary
  • 20 vacation days
  • Full insurance paid
  • Full TRS paid
  • Travel stipend
