SUMMARY
The Microsoft Developer will support the administration of three state administered retirement systems with over $24.9 billion in combined assets. These systems have a membership of approximately 421,000 state and local government employees in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, including state employees, state police officers, city and county employees, as well as non-teaching staff of local school boards and regional universities.
RESPONSIBILITIES Performs the design, development, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of complex software within the Clients application, specifically the business areas of Health Insurance and Correspondence. Analyzes user requests and works with Business Analysts to understand requirements and deliver technical solutions. Performs complex production support and problem resolution in all functional areas of LOB for web and batch processing applications. Provides cross-functional technical advice and assistance to Application Developers, Business Analysts, and Database Administrators to aide in developing and implementing custom code for KPPA.
REQUIREMENTS Five (5) years of experience as a .NET Programmer in a Senior role. Extensive knowledge of Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, and SQL Server Management software. Strong background in VB.NET. Solid problem-solving skills with a proven ability to manage and troubleshoot complex systems and workflows. Analytical skills and attention to detail. Good time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of the intricacies of Health Insurance processing. Knowledge of batch processing, preferably as applicable to correspondence and agency communications. Work is performed local remote with the ability to work on-site as needed.
