Primary Purpose:
Provides technical expertise in the research, management, design, and implementation of the district’s physical security system such as video, security management, PA,communications systems, implementation of the district’s public and private cloud services, enterprise applications, and communication systems. Actively engage in actions that contribute to the overall mission and strategic plan of Waller ISD.
Qualifications:
Education/Licenses/Certification:
Bachelor degree or higher in an Information Technology related field or equivalent experience.
Relevant Information Technology certification preferred.
Special Knowledge and Skills:
Effective verbal, written communication, interpersonal, and telephone etiquette skills
Ability to provide technical leadership.
Expert knowledge of implementing and managing video and security management systems
Expert knowledge of diagnosing and repairing physical security equipment
Expert knowledge of configuring, managing, and troubleshooting enterprise applications.
Ability to set priorities and handle multiple complex assignments.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience providing technical support to end users, preferably in an educational environment.
Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting enterprise class network systems and applications.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Design, implement and engineer network infrastructure, video and access management security systems.
- Design, implement, support and maintain enterprise applications and network infrastructure systems and services in use district-wide.
- Act as the system administrator for all network infrastructure, including video and access management security systems.
- Act as part of a team and provide leadership to design, develop and implement technology systems including policies and procedures district-wide.
- Provide training to Technology and district staff in the proper use of the district’s network infrastructure, video and access control systems.
- Work cooperatively with district/campus leadership and external vendors to resolve issues.
- Provide regular updates and status reports to the appropriate supervisor.
- Complete a written record of every service call and document all process/procedures developed.

- Respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.

Tools/Equipment Used: Hand tools and test instruments for electronic repairs and cable installations; standard office equipment including personal computers and peripherals

Motion: Repetitive hand motion; frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; regular walking, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching; may climb ladders
Lifting: Regular moderate lifting and carrying (up to 44 pounds); occasional heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over)
Environment: Occasional prolonged and irregular hours; frequent on-call and after-hours work; occasional district wide travel; may be required to be on-call 24 hours a day; may be exposed to electrical hazards.
