Procurement Specialist II (Remote)

TSC is seeking a Procurement Specialist II to support our Production group based in Huntsville, AL (Discovery). This position is remote with a preference that the ideal candidate will live in a commutable distance to our Huntsville, AL location.

The Procurement Specialist II is a self-starter with a proven track record in sourcing and procurement. An experienced negotiator, you will secure favorable terms and pricing from suppliers and comply with best practice procurement standards, FAR / DFARS regulations, and TSC policies and procedures. As an advocate of continuous improvement, you will execute the job responsibilities with a customer-focused approach.

The successful candidate will operate, with limited supervision, in a cross-functional environment, and will directly interface with the program office, engineering, contracts, pricing, quality, material management, and other parts of the organization.

Responsibilities :

• Review technical project requirements / requisitions / commodities and issue supplier solicitations with consideration to prime solicitation instructions and contract flow-down.
• Promote full and open competition to the extent possible. Partner and support internal and external customers in justifying a sole or single source selection when competition is not feasible to meet program / project objectives (only one source, schedule, cost, and quality).
• Review and negotiate material / service offers, purchase order terms and conditions, and credit terms with suppliers.
• Evaluate, select, and award contracts to responsible and responsive sources of supply with consideration to FAR and DFARS regulations, and Program objectives. In addition, engage, influence, and improve supplier performance.
• Manage open orders ensuring the accuracy of data to facilitate a two / three-way match allowing for timely receipt and payment.
• Communicate, update, and control critical information to keep stakeholders informed, particularly on issues that have the potential to adversely affect the project.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
