Our direct client is looking for a Azure Government Cloud Engineer for a 90% Remote Long-term contract in Washington, DC.

Note : This is a hybrid position that requires on-site reporting at least once every two weeks. On-site requirements subject to change based on project needs.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

The Cloud Engineer is responsible for identification and selection of appropriate cloud services based on requirements and constraints, has deep subject matter expertise, and can evaluate new technologies for fit in current infrastructure architecture.

Architect, design, deploy, and manage Azure Gov IaaS, SaaS & PaaS services, and solutions.
Hands on role to implement and maintain Azure Gov Cloud tenant, including workloads migration (VMware) from on-perm to cloud.
Manage overarching product / platform architectures and ensure design and development of all projects follow the architectural vision.
Conduct analysis, design and implementation of infrastructure and cloud data center solutions including computing, networking, routing and security.
Design and support solutions in cloud and virtualized computing environments with and understanding of hybrid cloud architectures.
Successfully communicate, evangelize and implement the architectural vision across teams.
Provide technical leadership and work with team direction on projects with a high level of complexity.
Create a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaptation process.
Cost management of Azure Gov services and implementation of a tagging strategy for Cloud Resources and Assets with an associated taxonomy in support of cost rebilling, reporting, and compliance.
Proficient in core Microsoft technologies including Windows, Windows server administration, Active Directory, Identity and Access Management, DNS, SQL
Design, build, upgrade, and decommission various Windows and Linux systems, features, and services including but not limited to :

Active Directory (Azure AD)

Azure Storage (Blob, Files, Disks)

App Services

BCDR (Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, Recovery Vaults)

Networking (vNets, Subnets, Express Route)

Virtual Machines

Liaise effectively with 3rd party suppliers and support providers to ensure issues and solutions are provided within expected service levels.

Create supporting documentation for various audiences with the ability to multi-task and be creative and innovative in a dynamic, fast paced team environment.

Knowledge of RESTful API, Web Services, XML, JSON

Education :

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science

The equivalent combination of education and successful work experience (10 years) and

Microsoft AZURE Certification in specialized areas is required

SKILL MATRIX :

Experience in design and maintenance of public / Gov cloud solutions - Required

Experience providing IT administration and / or engineering services managing Windows and Linux Servers and Services. - Required

Understand the terminologies and how to navigate IP subnetting, Network Security Groups, routing, Azure Firewall, load balancing, DNS - Required

Excellent technical architecture skills, enabling the creation of future-proof, complex global solutions - Required

Expert knowledge of Azure CLI PowerShell, ARM Templates, Azure Networking, Azure Virtual Networks, and Site-to-Site-VPN. - Required

Intermediate knowledge of Azure DevOps configuration and management - Required

Experience with cloud monitoring including Azure Log Analytics, Azure Monitor, and Application insights. - Required

Experience in Terraform and / or Ansible and / or Azure Gov cloud / AWS CloudFormation IaC tools. - Required

Script Experience - PowerShell, Python, Bash, or similar - Required

Experience in design and maintenance of public cloud solutions w / focus on Microsoft Azure IaaS, PaaS service like Database services, Kubernetes, etc. – Plus to have

Excellent technical architecture skills and strong experience across Applications Migration (On-Perm VMware) to Azure (Gov Cloud Preferred) - Plus to have

Experience implementing DevOps practices including Infrastructure-As-Code (IAC), CI / CD, and automated testing - Plus to have

Knowledge of security policies, network security, data security and security event management to adopt cloud security services - Plus to have

Experience with relational databases such as MS SQL - Plus to have

Microsoft Azure Certifications - Plus to have

ITIL V4 Certification preferred - Plus to have

Agile SaFe / Scrum Master Certification preferred - Plus to have
