In-Office Position
General Summary: The Associate Engineer will assist project teams to create high-quality designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of projects including electrical distribution, transmission, and substation design. The Associate Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting electrical plans according to budget constraints, design factors, and client needs.
Essential Functions:
- Use CAD Related Software for Client requirements.
- Apply basic knowledge of commonly used utility design practices, codes, and procedures for Client projects.
- Work with designers on interpreting client requirements.
- Assists in the electrical design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
- Assist with research and complies project related data as required by the project coordinators.
- Assist with correcting and updating drawings provided by a senior engineer to verify corrections are made within multiple CAD Related Software.
- Work with leaders and team members to facilitate/support internal change efforts to increase organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications:
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Must currently be eligible to work in the United States of America.
- High School Graduate or GED, documentation required.
- Engineering degree, from an ABET-accredited university.
- Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is strongly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
- Proficient computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
- Basic computer skills include AutoCAD, MicroStation, 2D, and 3D rendering programs, and other analysis programs.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged sitting and standing are required.
