What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Tail Kit Assembly Engineer position at TechSource, Inc?
Your Opportunity:
In this role at TechSource, you will support the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center (AFNWC) and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) on the Scorpius project. As a TKA Test Engineer, you will play a key role in the TKA Aging and Surveillance Test Program, which ensures the ongoing performance and reliability of critical systems by monitoring their behavior over time. You will contribute to important projects such as:
- Retrofit Evaluation Stockpile Testing
- Nuclear Weapon System Evaluation Programs (NucWSEPs)
- Joint Integrated Lab Tests (JILT
- TKA AF Component Lab Tests (AFCLT)
What You Will Do:
- Assist AFNWC/NDS with planning and executing the TKA Aging and Surveillance Test Program, ensuring proper engineering methods are followed during TKA and weapon system tests.
- Analyze test data using reliability and statistical software to assess system performance, survivability, vulnerability, and effectiveness.
- This role requires monthly travel.
What You Will Need:
- An active Top Secret (TS) clearance with SCI eligibility
- 12 years of experience in on-aircraft and laboratory systems testing and execution.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or related field. A master’s is equivalent to 6 years, a PhD equivalent to 8 years of experience.
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553 and MIL-STD-1760 communication architecture and protocols.
- Knowledge of nuclear weapon integration, certification processes and criteria.
- Ability to perform analysis and testing of complex systems and data.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred
- Nuclear weapon system background highly desired
- Familiarity with air delivered weapons and associated platforms
