Mandatory skills and requirements
- Bachelor s degree in mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma (Black Belt) is highly preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, especially on CNC machine shop with a focus on Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, Route cause and corrective actions (RCCA), Manufacturing process planning, and Fair knowledge over NC programming.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical analysis.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse teams.
- Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Lafayette, IN or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel to project locations.
Detailed job description:.
- Process Improvement: Analyze current manufacturing processes of the CNC machines and workflows to identify areas of waste, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
- Data Analysis: Utilize statistical tools and techniques to analyze process data, identify trends, and make informed recommendations for improvement.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of process improvement activities, results, and lessons learned.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure that improvements are integrated into standard operating procedures.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of process improvement initiatives.
- Project Management: Lead and manage process improvement projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
- Training and Mentoring: Conduct training sessions on Lean and Six Sigma concepts for employees at all levels, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and empowerment.
