We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst with a strong utility background, particularly in Meter-to-Cash Utility Billing (Retail). The ideal candidate is a self-driven, business process-oriented professional who can document, analyze, and optimize current business processes, work collaboratively with stakeholders, and drive change. This role requires a mixture of technical hands-on experience and process documentation expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation of process documentation, including business process flows, user stories, and requirements gathering, analysis and documentation.
- Work with business and technical teams to drive current-state to future-state transformation in utility billing and customer operations.
- Engage stakeholders across different teams to gather and analyze business data for process improvement.
- Document and implement regulatory and related controls experience in compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, automate manual processes to streamline operations.
- Create comprehensive Business Requirement (BRD) and Functional Specifications outlining key requirements, activities, deliverables, and timelines.
- Utilize flowcharting tools (Visio, PowerPoint, etc.) to map out business processes.
- Develop training materials and user guides to support end-users.
- Provides regular updates on project progress, risks, and issues. Uses dashboards to visualize key metrics and performance indicator
- Provide thought leadership on process efficiency and cross-departmental workflows.
- 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the Utility Industry (Electric/Gas Utilities).
- Expertise in Meter-to-Cash Utility Billing (Retail).
- Hands-on technical experience with business process documentation and transformation projects.
- Ability to lead and facilitate process improvement workshops with business and technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and engagement experience.
- Excellent communication skills – ability to interact with executives and technical teams.
- Experience with Community Solar, Customer Enrollment, or Utility Interconnection.
- Knowledge of Asset Management Systems is a plus.
- Experience working on SAP Billing and CRM Modules is a plus.
- Exposure to automation process efficiency mapping, etc.
- Experience in large consulting firms or enterprise-level transformation projects.
- Background in fieldwork, manual-to-automated process transformation, and regulatory workflows.
