Job Responsibilities
· Develop data architecture, standards, and strategies across the Judiciary.
· Work as part of a team to assess the current data landscape, including data sources, storage, integration, and governance practices, and recommend changes to the judiciary's data management strategy, architectures, and roadmaps.
· Develop data strategies, standards, integration approaches, and data governance frameworks and assist with data management and governance where appropriate.
· Ensure that the data environment is efficient, secure, compliant, and aligned with the judiciary's mission and objectives.
Required Skills/Work Experience
Data Strategy Development:
· Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the agency's data needs and objectives
· Assess, develop, and maintain, in cooperation with other stakeholders, a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the judiciary’s mission and objectives.
· Assess, develop, and maintain, in cooperation with other stakeholders, a comprehensive API strategy aligned with the judiciary’s mission and objectives.
· Help develop and maintain data integration strategies to ensure seamless data exchange between systems.
· Assess, design, and implement data integration strategies to enable data sharing and interoperability between systems.
· Strong understanding of challenges in data migration from on-prem to cloud
Data Standards:
· Define and maintain data standards, including naming conventions, data types, and data formats
· Assess, develop, and maintain data quality standards and metrics
· Define and validate data standards metrics and compliance measurements
Data Integration and Interoperability:
· Assess, design, and implement data integration solutions to enable data sharing and interoperability between systems
· Assess the judiciary’s APIs, data services, and other data access mechanisms
· Support the design and implementation of data warehouses, data lakes, and other data storage solutions
Data Security and Privacy:
· Assess data security and privacy policies
· Assess compliance with relevant federal regulations and guidelines
· Collaborate with cybersecurity, data, and development teams to identify and mitigate data-related risks and vulnerabilities
Data Analytics and Business Intelligence:
· Assess data analytics and reporting solutions to meet the agency's information needs
· Provide guidance on data visualization and dashboard development
Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication:
· Engage with stakeholders across the agency to understand their data needs and requirements Communicate data architecture strategies, policies, and standards to technical and nontechnical audiences
· Provide guidance and support to data stewards, data analysts, and other data professionals within the agency
Emerging Technologies and Trends:
· Evaluate and recommend new technologies and approaches to improve the agency's data capabilities Develop proof-of-concepts and pilot projects to validate new data solutions
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, or related field
· Years of experience can substitute for lack of a degree
