Machine Installation Specialist

HVAC and Electrical Services

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, as well as electrical equipment and controls.

Responsibilities

• Let and complete HVAC filter changes, belt replacements, and coil cleanings.
• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Ensure all temperatures and set points on the building management system are within range, reporting any found alarms or issues to the Facilities Supervisor or Manager.
• Maintain accurate Freon logs, adhering to EPA requirements.
• Review new design and concepts of HVAC systems as needed.
• Program building management systems as required.
• Charge, start, and check for proper operation of HVAC equipment and related devices.
• Modify and/or install natural gas, compressed air, and water piping systems as needed.
• Weld, braze, and/or repair piping associated with HVAC installations or modifications.

Electrical Skills

The ideal candidate should possess sound knowledge of National Electrical Code and Electrical Safety Practices, as well as experience interpreting electrical circuit diagrams and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Use and maintain hand and power tools normally used in electrical and electronics equipment repair, such as Ohmmeters, Ammeters, Meggers, and others.
• Install conduit, conductors, junction boxes, disconnects, switches, and lighting systems as needed.
• Test safety equipment such as exit and emergency lighting as required.
• Replace ballast and bulbs as needed.

Plumbing Services

The selected candidate will be responsible for repairing or replacing faucets, valves, toilets, fixtures, and other associated plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Cut and thread piping as needed.
• Repair specialty plumbing items such as emergency eyewash stations as required.
• Winterize piping systems as needed.

Carpentry Services

The ideal candidate will be responsible for repairing broken windows, doors, walls, and ceiling tiles, as well as installing towel racks and dispensers.

Responsibilities

• Repair and install door locks and closures as needed.
• Install racking systems as required.
• Repair or replace door handles and locking systems as needed.

Safety Protocols

The successful candidate must comply with all OSHA, DHEC, and other safety-related policies associated with facilities operations.

Responsibilities

• Be proactive and adhere to all safety standards.

Miscellaneous Duties

The selected candidate will be responsible for filling in for the Facilities Supervisor as needed, coordinating/organizing/performing quarterly inventory on all MEH parts, and assisting with energy audits.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the work of other employees, reporting any issues to the Facilities Supervisor.
• Mentor other team members to develop redundancy in specialized skill sets.
• Work overtime as needed with the facilities team to maintain critical facility equipment.
• Test and maintain emergency electrical equipment such as generators and battery-operated lighting as needed.
• Assist other maintenance staff as needed.
• Interpret building plans, blueprints, and schematics.
• Maintain control of tools and clean shop area.
• Perform other preventative maintenance on buildings, devices, and other systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
