For this exciting position, we are specifically targeting students who have a background in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science or Management Information Systems. A strong curiosity about understanding organizational Governance and Internal controls is required. Reporting to Lead Internal Auditor, Assurance & Advisory (A&A), this outstanding individual will assist with the execution of Assurance & Advisory’s Annual Audit Plan and Strategic Initiatives.
Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PDT or MDT or relocate to a specific office (site-based). You must also currently be a student enrolled in a Canadian post-secondary institution and will be enrolled throughout the duration of the co-op term (you will also be returning back to the post-secondary institution once the co-op term is completed). Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.

- Support risk assessments and planning of A&A activities
- Assist in the preparation of presentations and work products which deliver valuable insights to various levels of Management and the Board
- Participate in planning and generation of work products to support completion of Operational, Compliance, and Strategic audit and advisory engagements pertaining to Mining Operations and supporting functions such as Finance, IT, Legal, and Sustainability .
- Support delivery of Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) program, through detailing and testing the processes for design and operating efficiency.
- Lead or support the design and implementation of central initiatives that help A&A deliver its services with focus, rigor and impact
- Working towards an Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Commerce, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science or Management Information Systems having completed at least two years of undergraduate studies
- Demonstrated analytical reasoning, curiosity, and learning agility
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to lead several projects simultaneously
- Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite® of applications: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- A minor in or experience with data science analytics or business intelligence is an asset
- Mining/industrial/manufacturing/information technology knowledge is an advantage
- Proficiency in Spanish is an asset
- Able to work efficiently independently as well as part of the team
- Shown ability to learn new technologies and platforms quickly, accurately, and efficiently
- Able to communicate with precision in a technical environment
- Able to articulate sophisticated concepts clearly and in a way a diverse audience would understand
Salary : $3,900 - $4,900
