We are seeking a highly skilled Umbilical QA/QC Inspector for a long term assignment to ensure the quality and compliance of subsea umbilicals throughout the manufacturing and testing process. The ideal candidate will have experience in quality assurance and quality control within the offshore oil & gas industry, particularly with subsea umbilicals, cables, or related equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform QA/QC inspections of umbilicals during manufacturing, assembly, and testing to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards (API 17E, ISO 13628, etc.).
- Review and verify material certifications, test reports, and supplier documentation for compliance.
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and mechanical inspections at various stages of production.
- Monitor and witness factory acceptance tests (FAT), electrical continuity tests, hydrostatic pressure tests, and other required inspections.
- Document and report non-conformities, assisting with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and client representatives to ensure quality expectations are met.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in all inspection activities.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation for audits and project handover.
- Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in QA/QC for subsea umbilicals, cables, or similar products.
- Strong understanding of API 17E, ISO 13628, ASTM, DNV, and other relevant industry standards.
- Experience in non-destructive testing (NDT), hydrostatic pressure testing, and electrical testing is a plus.
- Certifications such as AWS CWI, CSWIP, NACE, or ASNT Level II (MT, PT, UT) are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and auditing processes.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to interpret technical drawings/specifications.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing or offshore environment, including travel as required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, QA/QC documentation software, and report writing.
