About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join our team as a Project Controls Analyst II at Tampa Electric Company. As a key member of our project controls group, you will be responsible for performing routine cost control and scheduling work, using standard techniques and procedures to carry out related tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Produce forecasts of total project costs, annual costs, and monthly cash flow costs, providing variance analysis and explanations.
- Track and analyze project costs, including budgets, commitments, actuals, accruals, and forecasts, with analysis that includes forecast to budget, estimate, and actuals, and risk analysis.
- Manage, revise, and maintain the status of detailed project cost estimates/forecasts, including all phases of project execution from engineering, plant projects, equipment procurement, and deliveries through startup activities.
- Develop, manage, revise, and update integrated detailed project primavera schedules, including all phases of project execution on multiple projects, maintaining project primavera schedules and updating as required to ensure primavera schedule integrity.
- Assist in forecasting engineering and construction resource requirements, including early identification of long lead items, resource constraints, and required project start dates.
- Interact with TEC procurement group regarding cost codes, purchase order commitments, change orders, and sales tax issues as required.
- Interact with Accounting Systems and Services, General Accounting, Regulatory Accounting, Audit, Corporate Taxes, Legal, and Risk Management to ensure all accounting and regulatory compliance guidelines are implemented.
- Assist in analyzing project control requirements as part of the bid review process to ensure all cost control requirements are incorporated into individual contracts and purchase orders.
- Recommend and implement improvements in systems, tools, and methods of project controls and project management.
- Create detailed project budgets from estimates and execution plans and develop cash flow projections from a review of project documentation.
- Perform analysis on project control requirements as part of the bid review process to ensure cost control requirements are incorporated into individual contracts and purchase orders.
- Forecast engineering and construction resource requirements.
- Ensure proper resource loading and Critical Path Method Scheduling methods are used, making recommendations for primavera schedule improvement and corrective actions.
- May assist in training lower-level project analysts.
- Develop and update project primavera schedules and perform risk analysis throughout the duration of the project.
Education and Experience
We require a High School Diploma or equivalent. A Bachelors Degree in a related field is preferred. You must have 5 years of work experience in the duties and responsibilities of the position or 2 years as a Project Control Analyst I.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated independence and expertise in performing the Project Controls Analyst I role or similar level.
- Proficiency in budget, cash flow, and/or primavera schedule development.
