Tectonic is currently seeking full-time, Construction Inspectors with soils experience for a long-term railroad bridge replacement project based in Old Saybrook, CT! This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile project and for professional growth and development within the A/E/C industry!
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Essential functions of this position include monitoring construction operations to determine compliance with project plans and specifications and performing field testing on construction materials to ensure that materials and procedures comply with project plans and specifications. They will prepare Daily Field Reports, report deficiencies observed in the field, and perform complex quantity and engineering computations. Inspectors will also be required to communicate effectively on site deficiencies to in-house project managers, contractors and/or client representatives as the project requires. Other functions include interpreting drawings and documents, including work orders, build documents and manufacturing processes, as well as all other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess HS Diploma or equivalent and maintain one or more of the following licenses/certifications:
- ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
- ACI Concrete Construction Special Inspector
- NETTCP Soils and Aggregate Inspector
- APNGA Portable Nuclear Gauge Safety (Troxler)
- Ability to perform basic quantity and engineering computations, and to read and interpret plans and specifications;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong interpersonal skills;
- A valid driver's license and a personal vehicle for site inspections.

PAY RANGE
Tectonic’s goal is to compensate employees fairly and equitably across all positions Companywide. Our advertised pay ranges are representative of our good faith effort to provide a reasonable anticipated salary range. The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidate’s work location, experience, education, certifications, and capabilities compared to the advertised position.
Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
