What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Engineering Project Manager position at Tectonic MSA LLC?

Tectonic is seeking a full-time Project Manager to support our East Brunswick, NJ Engineering and Construction Management team. This is an exciting opportunity for professional growth and advancement!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assists with management of various public sector engineering and transportation projects, including oversight and project review, visiting field offices, and filling-in to support project staff as needed;
Provides leadership to field staff and engineering teams;
Performs contract negotiations with clients, contractors, and subcontractors to obtain rates and contract amendments for the benefit of the Company;
Establishes and monitors schedules and budgets as they relate to assigned projects, and assists with billing reviews and invoicing as needed;
Assists with business development efforts, including proposal development, marketing activities, and traveling to trade shows / industry events as needed to assist in development process;
Performs project site visits as needed;
All related duties as required to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

BS Degree in Civil Engineering, with a valid Professional Engineering license and ability to obtain NJ PE License within a reasonable time period;

Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering, construction management, and transportation experience; NJDOT and / or NJTA experience highly preferred;

Strong leadership and interpersonal skills;

TCC Traffic Control Coordinator Certification preferred;

Detail-oriented, with the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, to coordinate with clients, supervisors, and managers;

Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, PDF software, and the ability to learn applicable time reporting and budgeting programs;

Valid, acceptable driver's license and personal vehicle to travel to meetings and sites as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the essential functions of this position, it is frequently necessary to :

Assume a stationary position,

Handle, inspect, and / or feel documents, materials and / or equipment relevant to the job;

Communicate with colleagues, supervisors, and clients using Company email and telephone systems;

Move around on the job-site, including ascending or descending on the landscape or on a ladder, and positioning oneself appropriately to access necessary testing materials and equipment, usually for prolonged periods of time,

Lift and / or move up to 50 lbs. for some types of monitoring and inspections,

Good visual skills, including focused depth perception, and

Regular daily operations of a motor-vehicle, which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time.

Employees may also be required to undergo substance abuse testing in accordance with project requirements, US DOT Regulations, and / or Company policy. The employee may occasionally be required to operate a computer, as well as other related office machinery, such as calculators, printers, and copy machines. The physical demands described above are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. PAY RANGE

Tectonic's goal is to compensate employees fairly and equitably across all positions Companywide. Our advertised pay ranges are representative of our good faith effort to provide a reasonable anticipated salary range. The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidate's work location, experience, education, certifications, and capabilities compared to the advertised position.

Pay Range : $130,000 - $180,000 per year
