Position Overview
The role of Quality Control Technician is to examine products and materials for defects or deviations from specifications. The Quality Control Technicians are responsible for outgoing and final quality inspections, movement/handling of product utilizing power/manual pallet jacks or Hi-lo, proper identification of product, documentation and placing packaged product to the correct shipping location.
Essential Job Functions
- Fit fabrics to frames or on wall to perform quality check
- Performs final quality control check through visual, functional and/or dimensional inspections, as assigned, to confirm that product meets quality and design specifications and ultimately customers’ expectations.
- Communicate inspection results to managers, supervisors and production sources.
- Provide description or justification for defective material.
- Make independent judgement calls in subjective situations with an understanding of Tectonics’ quality expectations.
- Prepare frames/fabric for fitting: label, Velcro, lay out clean fabric on clean floor
- Photograph fabrics and frames and send pictures to sales associates.
- Build and break down frames ensuring all parts and hardware are accounted for
- Pack fabrics and frames securely, ensuring no damage of product
- Maintains and updates inventory levels of bag and label stock
- Collaborate with various departments to manage efficient flow of materials
- Safely operate forklift, pallet jack, or other machinery to move, load, unload, stack and remove material from bins
- Observe all safety requirements in all duties
- Perform general housekeeping, maintenance and organization of docks and inventory areas
- Perform other duties, as required

Education and Experience
- High School diploma/GED required.
- Quality inspection/control experience, preferred
Physical Demands
- Requires standing, walking and bending for entire shift.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Conditions
- Must be able to work extended hours with little advance notice to meet project deadlines
- Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, dust or dirt.
