Accountability:
Reports to Production Control Manager. Non-exempt.
Scope of Responsibilities:
The Receiving Clerk/Material Handler position will accept and process deliveries, pull parts for orders and/or jobs in production. The receiving clerk's responsibilities include verifying delivered items, unloading trucks, ensuring items are stored correctly, and processing returns.
Specific Duties:
- Comparing purchase orders with invoices and packaging lists.
- Inspecting deliveries to ensure they match order and invoice criteria.
- Receiving and signing for deliveries.
- Unloading deliveries from trucks.
- Processing returns for incorrect or unsatisfactory items.
- Organizing and storing received items in appropriate areas.
- Updating inventory with received items.
- Communicating with vendors regarding delays or problems.
- Maintaining records of orders, delivery details, etc.
- Assist with light assembly work.
- Pull material to fulfil orders properly.
- Pull materials for production.
- Assist in shipping whenever necessary.
- Assist with building pallets and crates.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Computer skills and knowledge of data entry and inventory software programs.
- Basic math skills.
- Previous warehouse experience in manufacturing.
- High school diploma/GED.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Good understanding of warehouse safety regulations.
- Forklift certified a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
- Ability to inspect deliveries and pull parts with great attention to detail.
- Good physical condition to lift and move heavy items.
- Ability to ensure efficient receiving and issuing processes.
- Promptly resolve and report any problems or discrepancies.
In office work environment, non-exempt, hours Monday through Friday with an average of 40-hours per work week. Schedule may fluctuate based on business needs.
