Overview
TED Construction, a commercial and residential design build company, is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Architectural Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing innovative architectural designs that meet client needs while adhering to industry standards and regulations. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to transform ideas into functional and aesthetically pleasing structures.
Duties
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and requirements for architectural projects.
- Create detailed architectural designs and construction documents using Revit.
- Develop schematics and system designs that align with project specifications.
- Prepare presentation materials, including graphic design elements, to effectively communicate design concepts.
- Conduct site visits to gather information and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Utilize Bluebeam for document management and project collaboration.
- Model complex structures using Rhinoceros 3D or similar to visualize design intent.
- Coordinate with other professionals involved in the project, including engineers and contractors, to ensure seamless execution of designs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and technologies.
- Maintain and organize all materials in company file structure.
Skills
- Proficiency in architectural design software including Revit and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of schematic development and system design principles.
- Excellent graphic design skills to create compelling presentations and visualizations.
- Ability to build detailed models and drawings that accurately represent design concepts.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Understanding of California and Palm Springs building codes.
- Ability to multi-task and handle many projects at various stages with efficiency, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Licensed Architect or working towards licensure (not required but preferred).
- Experience with sustainable design practices and LEED certification.
- Prior experience working with design-build firms or high-end residential architecture.
