Service Advisor
A Service Advisor is responsible for scheduling service work in the service/repair shop and for selling additional service to customers. Must maintain a positive attitude and work toward meeting and exceeding monthly sales goals.
A successful Service Advisor's role entails greeting customers promptly and answering telephones in a courteous and respectful manner. They are to give customers their undivided attention while taking thorough notes and must clearly report all vehicle symptoms as described by the customer. They are also responsible for recommending needed maintenance, preparing an accurate estimate, monitoring the progress of each vehicle and keeping customers informed of their vehicle progress.
Specific Duties:
- Greet all customers/visitors promptly and in a courteous manner.
- Answer phones in a friendly manner and answer any questions customers may have.
- Obtain accurate customer and vehicle information, clearly reporting all vehicle symptoms as described by the customer.
- Must be active in determining and recommending needed maintenance based on age, mileage and history of vehicle and establish a follow up time with customer.
- Prepare complete and accurate estimates of cost for labor and parts, communicate clearly to customer prior to work being started.
- Monitor the progress of each vehicle throughout the day, updating customers frequently of the status.
- Verify that the final invoice reconciles with the work performed on the repair order. Explain all completed work and charges to the customer clearly.
- Payments: Collect payments from customers, encourage customer to open an interest free credit card offered by the company.
- Must maintain knowledge and ability to look up inventory of tires and parts.
- Ensure showroom is clean and tidy at all times which may include sweeping/mopping, picking up trash, wiping tables/counters down, etc.
- Must attend all safety and staff meetings as arranged by management.
- Must be flexible with work hours, days off and locations as assigned by management.
- Must communicate and work effectively with customers, coworkers and management.
- Any and all other duties as assigned by management.
Other Requirements:
- Must have basic computer knowledge and typing skills.
- Must have general automotive knowledge.
- Must have exceptional customer service skills.
- Must maintain positive energy level with customer-focused attitude, and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Must possess personal and professional integrity.
- Personal appearance must be neat and tidy at all times.
Competitive pay based on experience, hourly base commission & spiffs
