About the Role
The hours are 7pm-7am on a 2,2,3 rotating schedule. (E1 shift) Includes working every other weekend.
The Injection Molding Department Technician is responsible for providing set-up, start-up, tear-down, and operating instructions. They will also support the necessary training for the operator packers such that they can advance in their roles to Operator Technician I/II. Responsible for making a quality product that meets the specifications set forth by the customer and executing the production schedule to ensure on time deliveries are met.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintains mold spare components and performs mold component changeovers as production schedule requires.
- Maintains company provided tools complete, clean, and organized.
- Sets up and removes molds from molding machines as required for production orders.
- Sets up automation cells as required for production orders.
- Follows the direction set by the set-up sheet.
- Follows proper lock-out tag-out procedures as required.
- Operates a bridge crane and forklift as needed for mold setup/teardown.
- Starts up and shuts down injection molding machines.
- Operates or packs presses if no setup, startup, teardown or troubleshooting work is required.
- Covers breaks for other positions.
- Verifies automation programs of linear robots and troubleshoot as needed.
- Executes proper molding barrel and hot runner purging/cleaning procedures.
- Executes color and material changes as the production schedule requires.
- Troubleshoots quality and processing problems as needed.
- Takes direction on setup and troubleshooting actions, receive training and troubleshooting feedback.
- Coordinates production execution plan.
- Communicates on technical issues with molds.
- Additional responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
- High School or equivalent.
- 2 or more years of experience as an injection molding process technician, setup technician or equivalent in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to identify problem situations and have trouble-shooting abilities to solve problems on multiple machines.
- Must have the ability to learn a wide variety of materials and equipment.
- General understanding of the different types of plastic and their characteristics.
- Understanding of injection mold construction and operation.
- Understanding of the injection molding process and machine operation.
- Strong comprehension of basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals).
- Ability to learn new processes as assigned.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with a can-do attitude.
- Ability to use computers for simple correspondence and mold maintenance documentation.
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office Word, Excel
