Job Title : Habilitation Technician (Hab Tech)
Location : Phoenix, AZ 85007
Schedule : 7 PM – 6 AM; Must work at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) each week, can work both Saturday and Sunday as a set schedule to complete 40 hours weekly
Contract Length : 6 months (Contract-to-Hire Opportunity)
Pay : $18.00 / hour
Job Description
We are seeking dedicated Habilitation Technicians (Hab Tech) to fill two openings at our Phoenix location. As a Hab Tech, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with Developmental Disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities, and epilepsy. Your primary responsibilities will include coaching, teaching, mentoring, and providing direct support to members in Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF) and group home settings.
Key Responsibilities :
Facilitate activities and programs that promote skill development and maintain existing abilities.
Assist members with daily living skills, such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and eating.
Provide light housekeeping, including dusting, washing clothes, doing dishes, mopping, and disinfecting equipment.
Prepare, cook, set up, and serve meals while adhering to dietary guidelines.
Administer medications and offer basic healthcare support.
Implement individualized support plans and maintain detailed documentation.
Plan and participate in recreational activities, both at home and in the community.
Adapt to a flexible schedule to meet 24-hour care needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Perform lifting, carrying, and pushing / pulling tasks of at least 50 lbs.
Required Skills :
Must have at least 1-year of direct care experience
Knowledge of cleaning, basic cooking, and food safety.
Proficiency in planning and executing daily activities tailored to individual needs.
Strong communication skills, including verbal and basic sign language.
Familiarity with computers, including email and basic systems.
Experience with physical, occupational, and speech therapy techniques. (preferred)
Knowledge of behavior support and mealtime management techniques. (preferred)
Additional Information :
All employees must attend orientation on the 1st or 3rd Monday of the month, 10 : 00 AM – 12 : 00 PM
Employees are expected to maintain staffing ratios, which may require covering additional shifts as needed.
A 30-minute unpaid lunch break is required for every 8-hour shift worked.
Must be 18 years or older, willing to work weekends, holidays, overtime, and rotate work locations as needed.
