About the Role:
TEEMA is seeking a Correctional Mental Health Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients within our correctional facility.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments of inmates
- Develop treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Provide medication management and prescribe appropriate psychotropic medications as needed
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients
- Respond to psychiatric emergencies and crises within the facility in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patient encounters
- Participate in treatment planning meetings and case conferences to ensure continuity of care
- Provide education and support to staff regarding mental health issues and treatment options
- Acknowledge and adhere to all policies, procedures, and standards of care within the correctional facility
Requirements:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) and board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry
- Valid state medical license and DEA registration
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary setting
- Experience in correctional or forensic psychiatry preferred
