Job Title: Dedicated Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry/Geriatrics
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive psychiatric care to geriatric patients, addressing their unique mental health needs with expertise and empathy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments of geriatric patients, including mental health history, symptoms, and functional status.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs and goals.
- Provide evidence-based pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for mental health disorders prevalent in geriatric populations.
- Perform medication management, including prescribing, adjusting dosages, and monitoring for therapeutic efficacy and side effects.
- Offer psychotherapy and counseling services to address emotional and behavioral concerns.
- Conduct crisis intervention and risk assessment for patients experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms or suicidal ideation.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about mental health conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing symptoms.
Requirements:
- A Master's degree in clinical nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- 3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably as a Nurse Practitioner.
- State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority.
- Experience working in psychiatric care, preferably with geriatric populations.
