What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator position at Teen Action & Support Center?
Overview
TASC’s Program Coordinator is a part-time position that reports to the Director of Program Design and Development and works closely with the After School Programming Manager, First Steps Coordinator, Youth Engagement Specialist, other Program Coordinators, and interns. This position will work across NWA, specifically in our Rogers and Springdale locations and must be onsite at least 3 days/week.
This is an in-person, part-time position (15-20/hrs a week).
Responsibilities
- Leading TASC’s weekly after-school activities (3-5 per week) as assigned by the After School Programming Manager. This will include a combination of volunteer activities, social events, art classes, and life skills workshops.
- Transport teens between TASC locations and project locations as needed using TASC vehicles and maintaining appropriate van logs.
- Guide individual teens and groups in participating in each assigned TASC activity through example, active participation, and engaged dialogue with the teens.
- Closely supervise all teens in your care including: awareness of all teen’s names, knowledge of how to access emergency contact info, familiarity with TASC emergency procedures, constant presence with the teens on our site or out in the community, and a “hands-on” approach to overseeing the safety and well being of all minors.
- Ensure the proper closing of TASC facilities at the end of day through replacing materials, turning off lights, and locking doors.
- Attend and actively participate in all Programming Staff training and meetings.
- Contribute to creatively brainstorming project ideas during designated programming meetings.
- Conduct weekly teen orientations as assigned to you.
- Accountability for your duties including: punctuality, maintaining a clean and orderly work space, and thorough communication in the event of vacations, sicknesses, emergencies, etc.
- Provide back end support to the Development Team through cooperative volunteer projects (i.e. Mayday Baskets, All-In Setup, etc.).
- Follow all TASC rules and regulations.
- Applicants must be available to work during the following time frame: 12-9 pm, Monday through Saturday. Your work schedule (dates, times, locations, and scope of work) will be provided to you by the After School Programming Manager monthly.
- Participate in scheduled outreach events as assigned.
- Attend work at your assigned location each shift. Excellent attendance and being on time are of the utmost importance to TASC.
- Maintain good public relations with parents and families.
- Bilingual preferred, but not required.
Additional Information
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with children is preferred.
- Desire and ability to work with teens.
- Must pass reference and background checks, including fingerprint and sex offender registry checks.
- Must be comfortable driving. This is required.
- Able to participate in physical activities.
- Able to maintain attention and high energy or excitement for extended periods.
- Ability to relate to one’s peer group.
- Ability to accept supervision and guidance.
- Ability to assist in teaching activities.
- Good character, integrity, and adaptability.
- Enthusiasm for supporting young people.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (provided by TASC).
- Must be able to spend time outdoors and tolerate various weather conditions. Holidays Paid. Not eligible for benefits.
The Teen Action and Support Center is a 501c3 nonprofit organization which offers low-to-no-cost support services to teens and their families. Services include counseling & support groups, mentoring, volunteer service opportunities, innovative programming, and physical resources for teens in need.

Pay: $15.00 - $16.50 per hour
