Formerly known as Pro 100, TeenWorks was created in 1981 by Indiana philanthropist Gene B. Glick from a simple idea of offering teens a summer job. Today, the organization’s summer program engages teens in Anderson, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, and Muncie in a six-week summer work program that professional development sessions on topics such as financial literacy, professional etiquette, and verbal and written communication. After completing the summer program, teens can apply to participate in the year-round Pro program, which provides more individualized work experiences, college tours, networking opportunities, and additional professional development. Teens who participate for two or more years in the program are eligible for a TeenWorks Scholarship through CICF. To learn more, visit www.teenworks.org.
Position Summary
The purpose of the Director of Foundation Relations is to manage and lead foundational giving for the organization and serve on the Development Team. The position reports directly to the Vice President of Development and Communications. Primary responsibilities will be to develop unique opportunities to partner with foundations, Grantmakers, and stakeholders to help develop partnership and funds to empower Indiana teens to achieve excellence in community, college, and career. The position will also collaborate with other staff members on activities designed to enhance and support the overall mission of TeenWorks.
Responsibilities
Grants management
- Write all grant proposals (new and renewal) and reports, including collaborating with relevant stakeholders (Programs, Finance, etc.) to gather required data and information
- Ensure systems are in place to accurately track grant deadlines and store all grant materials
- Lead the stewardship and renewal strategy for all current grants
- Establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with grant maker representatives
- Research and identify new potential donors
- Collaborate with Development Department to engage grant making representatives in volunteer, event, and program opportunities
- Oversee the integrity and thoroughness of data in Salesforce System.
- Participate in organizational staff meetings
