Lead Teacher Job Description and Responsibilities
Teeny Tiny Preschool is a holistic, community-based learning center serving children ages 2 months to 5 years and their families. Inspired by a child-led and play-based approach to early learning, we have designed a unique curriculum that allows for the natural child to unfold in a stimulating and comfortable environment.

The Lead Teacher at Teeny Tiny Preschool is the driving force inside of the classroom. Our ideal lead teacher is someone who is inquisitive, curious, and responsive. Additionally, this teacher has the utmost reverence and respect for children and the science of early childhood education. This lead teacher is responsible for building a classroom environment that fosters growth and development for teachers and students alike. Improvisation, observation, and flexibility are the most crucial skills for this position to ensure you are prepared for the unpredictabilities of working with children, parents, and co-workers.
Currently we are looking for someone with experience and desire to work with children 3 to 5 years old.
Duties
At the minimum, our Lead Teacher must :
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a high school diploma or completed GED.
- Have one or more years experience working with children.
- Attend and complete all required and elective training to state minimum standards.
- Understand child development, or have a desire to learn about child development.
- Awareness of and experience with a variety of creative tools and experiences.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn about Reggio Emilia philosophies, democratic education, and radical teaching practices.
- Strong belief in children’s innate intelligence, capability, creativity, and autonomy.
