What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift - Material Handler (QWT) position at Tegra Medical?
Job Summary
Ships product to customers and vendors working with QWT Sales and Planning as well as GTC Engineering. Pull material for all jobs in GTC and QWT Business. Works with Operations and Quality to ensure jobs are moving to the shipping area in order to meet customer delivery dates. Provide feedback to Sales and Engineering as needed on any issues noted with traveler information and packaging requirements.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist Supply Chain and Operations personnel with physical movement of material.
- Enter basis issue/ receipt/ return-to-stockroom transactions into ERP system
- Packaging in a manner that protects product.
- Shipments to vendors and customers.
- Conduct cycle counts, physical inventories as required.
- Research inventory discrepancies, adjusts balances on ERP system.
- Recommends actions to prevent error recurrences.
- Where applicable, maintain part identity, lot/heat, quantity integrity.
- Advises other employees on proper material handling.
- Train additional operators to assist as needed for packaging or pull material GTC/QWT finished goods.
- Work with GTC Engineers to package development products.
- Work with QWT Sales for shipping of overages or any special requirement.
- Coordinate efforts with production shipping (i.e. transfer of information on job transitioning to production.
Qualifications
- Must be able to enter data into ERP system and be proficient with Excel and Word.
- Should have good written and oral communication and interpersonal skills and be able to be flexible in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
- Knowledge of UPS and FedEx systems preferred.
- Knowledge of any ERP system (not limited to SAP).
- Can-do Attitude. Flexibility.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of experience in material handling / material control is required.
