Job Summary
The Senior Accountant will assist with the monthly close process and create financial reporting packages, while ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all accounting tasks. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for supervising the finance department and report directly to the Controller. This individual will be a proven professional with inherent leadership qualities and excellent attention to detail necessary to ensure accurate reporting in all areas.
Role and Responsibilities
- Aid to prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with established schedules and with direct input from the accounting team.
- Conduct monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and escalate to the Corporate Controller.
- Review all inter-company transactions and record accurately and appropriately.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulations as well as participate in various annual audits.
- Delegate financial responsibilities accordingly to the accounting team.
- General support to Operations and Senior Financial personnel on processes as needed.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of organization.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience with computerized ledger systems.
- Expert knowledge of Excel and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to function well in a team-oriented environment.
- Must possess strong working knowledge of SAP, certification strongly desired.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Economics required. 3 years experience in accounting role with strong supervisory skills.
